These are flighty little guys and rarely sit still for any length of time. They are pretty common and they are pretty tame. They'll come check you out to see if you have any food. So if you're a little bit patient you will have a lot of opportunity and should be able to get a nice photo of one.
This is a Black Capped Chicadee. I took this at Reifel Bird Sanctuary. I have talked about this place before.
Picture info. Lens was a Tamron 200-400 f5.6 zoom. Set to 360mm and 1/640the sec at f5.6
Great shot, especially considering that you had no time to shoot it! Chickadees are my favourite backyard feeder visitor :)
